Castle Greyhound Rescue and Adoption

Over 15 years experience in finding the right dog, the right home!

JR is a two year old, brindle, male who is very playful. He likes to run, play with toys and loves other dogs.

Micah is a four year old blue brindle who is blind in one eye. He is an 80lb couch potato that loves to carry around his "security blanket" (a comfort toy) constantly. Don't miss a chance to see this big boy.

TX Prima Donna is a very playful 10 year old. She was found roaming with Queenie in Lockhart, that is why she looks thin. But you won't believe she is 10 years old!

TX Queenie is a 9 year old female who was travelling through Lockhart with Donna. She is a little thin on meat, but big on heart. Come and visit with Her Majesty.

Anna is only one years old and weighs 68 lbs. She is very pretty with a white coat and black spots. This is one of the few opportunities to own a very young greyhound. She was a former hog hunter. She is very shy but does well with other greys. She is house trained.

"Sunnapee" is a very friendly, brindle three year old female. She comes from a farm in Waco.

Topper, (Bottletop) is a nearly four year old , 75lb tiger striped male. He is very friendly, playful and smart. He loves mealtime. Topper comes to us from the Lockhart shelter.

Zinger, a four year old female. She is a playful and happy girl with a pretty gold brown coat. This is her second time in as a rescue. She was formally known as "Had a Feeling," maybe you'll have a feeling for her too!

Rocket is a 4 year old, 70 lb dark brindle male, a former racer (Otto Octavius) who is cat and small dog friendly. He also loves kids and is very friendly. He is also a digger. This is his second time as a rescue.

Waco, a nearly three year old male from the Waco shelter. Check out those forward facing ears, a rarity in greyhounds. Not much is known about Waco because he wasn't a racer, but maybe you can build a story with him.

Clint, a four year old, brindle, male, found in Kingbury. He is housebroken and is on heartworm medication. We know that he was a former racer. When he was found he was down to 53lbs, about ten pounds down from his race weight. He is very healthy and playful now. He needs a good home with a lot of love to fatten him up and preferably one with older children. He comes to us from a breeder in Lockhart.

Red (Red Eagle) a 89lb male and former racer retired due to a leg injury. He has a metal pin in his back leg, but you will only notice this when he runs. Red has returned to us due to a relocated owner. He will turn 6 in April and is not small animal friendly.

Congratulations to Connie, Sparkle, Hazel, Ebon and Slammer for finding new homes. We wish you the best!
Hazel's story
Jon and Beth received a call from New York from a women who had just lost her beloved greyhound and had seen Hazel on our page. She had family in Austin and wanted to know if they could visit Hazel. The couple came out and fell in love with Hazel and knew she would be a good match with their relative in New York. After many phone calls and coordination, Hazel was joined with her new owner in New York. And as a bonus; Hazel discovered she loves the snow! Who knew?

Call Beth or Jon at (512) 454-9062 for additional information on these and other dogs in our care.

On the last Saturday of each month, Petco at Hancock Center hosts Castle Greyhounds for meet and greets from 12:00 to 3:00.  Come out and meet who is new in town!
